I started attending the Fellowship about three years ago. I had never been one for formalized religion, particularly ones that had a rigid ritual structure and dogma.
I have always had a great time here. Never had any problems.
Small congregation. Great place for fellowship
My wife and I were members of this congregation for a few years while she attended UF. What a wonderful faith community! We felt welcomed immediately by members of all ages. The children are the heart of this community. I helped facilitate a Coming of Age class as part of the Religious Education program, and I found that the children raised among these people to be bright, kind, and welcoming to other new children. This is definitely a great place for families of all shapes, sizes, and kinds.
In l983 I timidly walked into the UU Fellowship after attending the local Catholic church. What I found was a place of warmth and acceptance. No one tried to force doctrine on me. I was able to gradually grown spiritually and become open to truths from many different sources. Here I also found friends that have enriched my life in many ways. Walking in that door was the best thing I've done in my life.
Unitarian Universalism does not have this. They have traditions, but believe that all religions have a truth and that it is important to learn from them and develop one's one sense of religious identity. It's this unique mixture of beliefs and backgrounds that makes this Fellowships an even stronger community and a reflection of the world we live in.
