I cannot express enough how grateful I am for Miles! I would recommend him in a heartbeat. He knows what he is doing, is quick to respond to any questions or concerns, and has formed invaluable connections and relationships within the Gainesville court system. His work and dedication to me and my case has given me a new lease on life!

As a result, he definitely got us the best result possible and my son has an opportunity to put this experience behind him with no blemishes on his record

Mr. Kinsell and his staff, specifically Libby, answered every one of our phone calls, or promptly returned our voice mail messages. We always felt more at ease after the conversation because we knew we were in good hands.

This legal team is stellar, I was facing DUI charges and I was really afraid of how this would affect grad school, my record and life in general. Miles, John and Libby made the ordeal painless, Miles and John actually work on cases together so your getting 2 attorneys for the cost. And in my book their fees were minimal considering they got the charges dropped through a deferment period and at the end of said time period the DUI will become reduced to a citation and I can have the whole ordeal expunged. They have great communication and service even after the bulk of the legal work is completed, they are personable, informative and they say call or email anytime with future questions or concerns. I feel luck to have found a firm as good as this one, I have met a few folks that have faced DUI in the past and they said their attorneys (different firms) didn't do a things for them and they still got the book thrown at them when it was all said and done. Not me, and I own it to Kinsell and Whitaker.

Good service, good communication and we'll set expectations

John & Miles were very responsive to all our needs and concerns. The entire staff, Libby especially, was excellent in follow up and keeping our family in loop. End result was what we had hoped for. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services. Excellent defense team!!

That being said, I was referred to Miles Kinsell. He ended up being a true God send. He was in the higher range of expense for his service. He was also not shy about explaining the severity of my charges and what could come of them if I were to be convicted. I had read that he was not responsive and pushy to get his clients to settle earlier than necessary, so I was hesitant. I ended up choosing him due to his matter of fact attitude and his vast connections, experience and knowledge in the field. I am EXTREMELY grateful that I did. The state prosecutor waited for a very, very long time to formally charge me. Due to this there was a lot of downtime in which I was left in limbo not knowing what would come of it. Miles was not overly communicative during this time which did concern me to begin with but I came to realize that was only because there was nothing to communicate and any time there was he would reach out to me immediately. Even during the waiting period I would call him to ask how things were going and he would always return my call without impatience and was very understanding of how nerve-racking it was to have to wait.

He did the research and work necessary, as well as continual follow up with the state prosecutor, to get the charges of hit and run, DUI, and resisting arrest dismissed before we ever went to court. He then came to an agreement with the state prosecutor, that I felt completely comfortable with, in the form of a PTI. If I complete the agreed upon probation and community service without getting in any trouble the felony charge of resisting with violence will also be dropped. The judge himself said this was the best possible outcome for the circumstances in my case.

I thought my life was over the morning of my first showing. I can't express how devasting and traumatic my arrest was for me. I was pulled over and informed that I had hit a bicyclist and fled the scene of the crime. I was not given further information and my passenger and I were absolutely positive that I had not hit anyone. Believing they had the wrong vehicle, I continued to question the officers. I was not cooperative nor was I pleasant after receiving brief, nondescript answers to my questions and being demanded to adhere to their instructions. I was asked to perform a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer, both of which I refused on the principal that I still did not understand how I could have possibly hit a bicyclist and not noticed. From there things got very chaotic very quickly. I was finally placed under arrest and charged with a hit and run (felony), DUI (misdemeanor), resisting arrest (misdemeanor), and resisting arrest with violence (felony). Upon hearing the details of the witness testimony and the bicyclist the morning of my first hearing, I realized that there was every possibility that I had in fact hit a bicyclist and not realizing the incident occurred left the scene completely unaware of what had happened. I was devasted. I had never been to jail before, nor had I ever gotten in trouble in any way outside of a speeding ticket. I am also a former tour guide and a DUI would mean I would never be allowed to hold that position again. Jail was awful, but the media attention and slandering of my name throughout the city the following weeks was even worse. I felt as though every good thing I had ever done was now null and void after this incident. I nearly lost my job, I lost social connections and had to endure very malicious gossip for months at my place of work.

Miles Kinsell is a great attorney and a also a great person. Libby in the office is also excellent. They are true professionals. My son got in serious legal trouble on his first semester away at college in Gainesville; a drug charge. We consulted with Mr. Kinsell immediately after the incident. We hired him on the spot. He told us exactly what charges the police would most likely file, what the State attorney would most likely do, and all of the possible and probable resolutions to the situation. He definitely knows his way around the Gainesville legal system. And this experience is what enabled him to get my son the best resolution possible.
