It's pretty peaceful here in the fall and winter. We went last Friday (Veteran's Day) and it was quiet. Only a pair of hikers, a small family, and maybe one jogger.
Don't forget your mosquito repellent, once you start to get down near the creek they come out in swarms. Porta-pottys are near the parking lot so you don't have to defile the pristine wilderness. I would rate this 5 stars if it was free access, so don't forget to bring $4 or have an annual pass.
This place was a lot of fun, although the only really "technical" aspect was having to riding in the sun a few times. Saw a few deer while I rode. Signage could be a bit better, it was a bit confusing at times
Lots of good, flowing trails. My only complaint is that some of the trails are very far away from the trailhead, so be prepared to navigate several miles just to get to them.
San Felasco is one of my favorites. For being in FL it will surprise you with the elevation change. While mostly single track it offers trails to suite all riders. It has fast and flowy flat trails and rolling hills, technical climbs and descents and fast and flowy descends as well. There are picnic tables sprinkled all over, some of then have tool stations now. The trail is regularly maintained too! I highly recommend you try this place out! Thank you Friends of San Felasco!
