Do not hire R&R. I needed a very small job done to my house, which included putting a new small piece of siding up above my front door and replacing a patch of flooring inside the front hallway. When I first established contact with them, they seemed very friendly and then it was all down hill. It was impossible to get anyone to return my calls or follow through with an appointment. One day someone showed up at my house and replaced the siding unannounced. He did not use any type of paint or sealant on the new siding he put up. No one who I had talked to previously even discussed this with me and asked me if I'd like to get matching paint and have him do it. I'd rather have had the guy paint it because I had to stand on my roof to reach all areas of the siding that needed painting, which I did not like doing because my roof is very steep. All the while I had been asking for a quote on paper, which was never given to me. So anyway, I called the owner and asked him if there was a plan to seal and paint the wood and he said, "No, but you better get up there and paint it before it rains."
UPDATE: The office manager is very friendly and was incredibly apologetic about the way this was all handled and is trying to work something out on my behalf.
Maybe they treat people with larger jobs and bigger homes better than this. But there is that old saying about your character is more about how you treat people who have little than it is about how you treat the rich and powerful.
We had Lance from R&R come by to give us an estimate on ceiling/drywall/painting for water damage restoration to our condo 2 months ago. He seemed great and helpful. But then he became completely unresponsive to our questions during discussion of the estimate and negotiation of the pricing (price seemed quite high). We tried emailing, texting, calling... nothing. That is completely unprofessional. We went with someone else, but it definitely threw off our timeline and made an already stressful situation even more so.
I asked R&R several times to help me repair the floor and said that I had even talked to the vendor myself and he could get a box of the product for me. They eventually stopped returning any of my calls and dropped off the face of the earth. So, I went about my way and stopped even bothering. Then this week, many months later, I received a letter in the mail from them out of the blue threatening to pursue a lien on my house if I don't pay them for the siding that they replaced.
Then I asked how we were going to deal with repairing the flooring in my hallway. I told the owner where the flooring was originally from and he told me he'd look into seeing if they could order a small amount of the same product. He never did this. He never responded to any of my attempts to follow up with him on the flooring. I talked to other people at R&R to see if they could intervene and I was told that there were no notes about me trying to tell them what vendor my floors came from. Then at some point the owner told me he had tried to find the flooring through that vendor and was waiting to hear back. Weeks went by and I finally called the vendor myself. He looked in his file and said he does still order my flooring but that no one from R&R had ever tried to contact him about it.
