Angry Ex client.
My son had a stylist there by the name of Antoine. He was amazing and I love his work. I recover and email that was very disrespectful to him and slandering his name. I have never seen anything so unprofessional in my life. No matter what happens in a shop, a client should never be educated as to why someone isn't working anymore. Professional people say, " They are no longer with us". As a client I did not sign a contract so I'm free to see who I want. How can a stylist do what he did and they are only licensed braiders? Antoinette Burgess the real you has surfaced and it's not pretty. That young man worked hard and its not fare for you to do that to him. I have received 2 emails that are defaming this young mans character. Please stop doing that to him and stop sending me those messages. I pray you see your wrong and stop this.
Lousy service! I have made several attempts to contact this salon in order to schedule a hair appointment. A few times, I've given the benefit of the doubt that they're exceptionally busy, but each time, I've grown more frustrated--- NO ONE EVER picks up the phone during business hours. And apparently they don't return voicemails either. I even tried to reach them using their websites email address. Nothing. It's such a shame.
If you have curly hair, I recommend you go here because everywhere else I've been in this city including places that claim to specialize in curly hair are underwhelming on a good day. All you get are ladies with natural loose beach waves claiming to be curly hair experts because theirs is exactly the same texture and thickness, even though it clearly isn't, so it'll be just like cutting their own hair. As if I won't find out in 20 minutes that we live in completely different realities. I'm glad Antoinette has somewhere for us lost souls to go for help.
I have been going to this salon for 14 years. Since I was in college in Gainesville. The prices were lofty at the time but I always felt it was well worth it even on a fixed income. It is the most professional, well managed, relaxing salon I have experienced. Although I have moved literally hours away at different times in these years, I still return to Antoinette's Anu Twist. No other place quite compares. I never have to wait and my hair is alway beautiful when I leave. This place is worth the drive.
It can be challenging to get an appointment, but only because they're popular. Antoinette offers discounts for students, and overall she left a good impression. She invited me to sit in the salon room where she was attending a few other ladies instead of letting me wait by the reception desk which was nice because I'm quiet and will absolutely sit somewhere pretending to be invisible like a fool. She's only one of two hairdressers I've been to in Gainesville that have even mentioned the term "curl patterns," which just goes to show how few hairdressers here actually understand the nuances of curly hair, and mine isn't even that complicated.
It was AMAZING!!!!!! I have never been to a salon that made me feel so welcomed. I was came in to a very warm greeting from Antoine. I am was pleased with the way he treated me throughout my service. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you get a service at this salon. Hands down the best place for us natural folk. Antoine is GREAT and I love his personality. Keep up the good work A Nu Twist Salon Team!!!!
