I really can't even explain how amazing my experience was at Beach Break. My hairstylist was Katie and she was wonderful in every aspect. I've never had a stylist actually listen to what I wanted and continuously explain the processes of cutting my hair. She is also just a kind individual and really easy to talk to, making the time go by quickly. I absolutely will be coming back here for all my hair needs and definitely recommend this salon to anyone and everyone. Thank you Katie!
This confirms it: I will never go to any salon for any reason ever again. They lie about their ability to cut curly hair, ignore what you ask for and just chop.
I can recommend Katie. She is a good stylist and the atmosphere of Beach Break is great. But I just had a pretty disappointing cut from another stylist, not worth $45. She cut my bangs terrible. Not happy about this cut.
My favorite salon in Gainesville! Dustin Lawrence is amazing-- Very professional, personable, knowledgeable, and fun! I'm always thrilled with his work; I highly recommend seeing him. I also adore the chill beach decor inside the salon, very relaxing. Always a great experience with everyone there. (And I love that they even offer you a drink!) :)
If you want shaved patches with bright green extensions taped to your scalp, then Beach Break is the place for you, but don't expect them to listen to what you ask for. Or have any idea how to deal with curls.
Angel is absolutely amazing. She is such a personable person who really takes the time to make you feel beautiful in her chair! We always have great conversations and I have never left her chair feeling anything but gorgeous. I highly recommended booking with her!
I have waited several days before writing this review. But it has not changed my opinion. The "experience" was fine; the people are friendly. But the haircut was the worst. Do not believe them when they say they know how to cut curly hair. Her technique for dealing with curly hair was to coat my hair with conditioner so she could cut it like straight hair. Then she wanted to blow it dry to get rid of any curl! I asked for a 1" trim, with enough left for a pony tail so I can wear a hat in the sun. She cut off at least 3" - no pony tail and it looks like a basket ball in the front and is flat in the back. It is 2" long in the back now. It will take at least 6 months to grow back what was cut off and I can't even stuff it under a hat - it sticks out the sides like Bozo the clown and the hat pops off!
