If you want to play a game where you might get hospitalized, try the sushi at this publix... I would return it if it was worth the gas money. Please use fresh product, the Krab in the roll made today is definitely spoiled.
Right now I’m eating a sub I picked up at this Publix. The staff is rude on most occasions and today was no exception. The lady who was making my subs was busy carrying on a conversation with her off duty coworker that was waiting in the hot items next to subs. I had to repeatedly tell her what I wanted.
So I finally get out of that place that is becoming as friendly as Walmart and after a few bites I’ve cleared most produce off my sub. Slimy tomatoe slices with stems in the middle, banana peppers also with stems, slimy soppy lettuce and those onions that taste like they were cut last week.
Literally the BEST grocery store! And shopping is definitely a pleasure at Publix! Please come out to Colorado. I would never shop anywhere else if you do!
This experience has become what I expect of the local Publixs and I have started going less frequently.
This is an easily accessible, well stocked store. A pleasant surprise considering the demand for fresh groceries post hurricane. Ice freezers fully stocked. Many supplies for those without power as well. Pleasant well trained staff. Truly lives up to the slogan "...Where shopping is a pleasure"
Sub department review. I’ve been to Publix across Florida, Tennessee, Carolinas and Georgia. I’ll start by saying alachua county Publix are the worst ones. The quality of produce, meat, customer service and subs are closer to Walmart quality than Publix that I know.
I'd give my eyeteeth for a good Kroger's in Gainesville, some competition to a chain clearly cutting costs to make itself look good for the IPO. Publix does a fine job of faking Southern hospitality (I really don't need 18-year-olds commenting on my grocery purchases) but product selection is mediocre, varying by store, and the produce is remarkably second-rate throughout town. As noted by another poster, this particular store is better than the one on Tower and Archer but that isn't saying much, the one in Butler near Target is a step up. The real problem is that the closest half-dozen groceries are all Publix -- the lack of competition shows.
