Have a basic checklist. See them thru the transition into a vehicle that is most likely foreign to them.
As a Business Manager A recommendation would be to escort the customer, look at the vehicle together, put the customer in the seat and make sure they are comfortable- and can find all the common buttons.
The car was stinking of cigarette. When I immediately complained they could not give me another vehicle. I called the 1800 number and received the suggestion to go to another location (University and 7th). I drove there and there was not another vehicle available. Their only suggestion was to spray something in the car to obscure the cigarette smell, which I thought it was an inadequate suggestion. All in all, it seems absurd that some customer smokes cigarettes in a rental car and the burden gets passed to the following customer without any consideration. Another thing, all tires in the car were well above the allowed pressure (>40 lbs). The person who checked them for me said that this was not an isolated situation and that he had served other people who had the same problem in Enterprise vehicles. All in all, it does no seem Enterprise cares much for its customers.. frustrating!
Just a few points to think about in a world that has moved more towards impersonal automation.
Always professional and courteous. I have been renting from Enterprise for quite a while, and have always had a positive experience.
( and I rent 3+ times a month) No heart. No compassion and no customer service. My mother- a senior citizen was denied a one way rental
Phase 2 of a burial trip. The 2nd vehicle was much better than Ph1. And the staff was pleasant.
(that she had reserved online) because she did not have a return flight... Though she had a utility bill proving her local residence to the return site. I called customer service and spoke with an agent who clearly stated that she should not be having said problem. And when i sent my mother back to the branch she was AGAIN refused by Stewart. Who indicated that it was up to HIS discretion and the risk was too great without flight information. RISK?! This is a senior citizen who was just trying to get home after mandatory evacuation... I've seen branch managers make exceptions on hundreds of other things. But the elderly woman crying in front of this guy seemed to risky? The state is supposed to be uniting after this natural disaster- not picking and choosing who to help and who to cast aside... I drove 4 hours to come pick up my mother ( with my two young children ) who had been stranded at the airport. Thanks Stewart.
Worst enterprise branch I've ever dealt with
