Each agent we dealt with was so professional. Even with so many customers not one agent rushed us.
The auto rented was a Chevy Malibu and it was a terrific car. What was even more terrific was the agent, Felix, who found my iPad in the car and called me. I was actually on the plane and he rushed to the TSA folks and passed the iPad to them. They then got it to one of the agents who took it to the plane and delivered it to me just before take off. I can't say enough good about the agent and the car they rented me.
Our experience with Hertz could not have been better, particularly at Sarasota Airport where we had to exchange the car for a different one.

We actually had three different cars in the month we were there.
I booked a car through Hotwire for a week. Perhaps I did not read all of the terms & conditions carefully enough, but I was unprepared to have to pay an additional $200 deposit and another $50 of taxes and fees at the rental counter. I only keep one credit card with a very low limit for things like renting cars, and since I'd already pre-paid, I didn't have an additional $250 available. They were unable to split it, unable to accept a debit card, and generally unwilling to offer me any solutions whatsoever. The woman behind the counter told another customer that she was "totally over it" when he commented that it seemed busy. I eventually made my way to the other Hertz office in town and they were able to give me a better price, put everything on a debit card, and also offer me a discount for having AAA. None of this might be the fault of the airport location, but my misunderstanding of their (and Hotwire's) policies. However, the staff's dismissive attitude and unwillingness to explain or help remedy the situation of a mom and toddler stuck at the airport was highlighted by the much better treatment I received from the same company just a few minutes away.
The counter representative was courteous, extremely well informed and expedited the rental. Was the best experience we have had at a rental booth.
Bill, at Sarasota airport, was outstanding with his patience, understanding and assistance. We chose Hertz because we could add additional drivers without cost. Hertz will continue to be our rental car company.
