This Google Review is for the Town & Country Cleaner location on 34th Street. Update: Chad the manager agreed to give me a full refund so u gave bumped up the star rating. If you do use this place and have problems, strongly insist that the person at the front calls their manager.
I brought in my wedding dress since the sides needed to be pressed (a previous alteration left big creases on the sides). I showed the woman behind the counter the creases and explained that the sides needed to be pressed. When I dropped it off, they assured me that it would be done on Friday (day before my wedding). On Friday, they said that it would actually be done on Monday. (2 days AFTER my wedding). After I explained why this was unacceptable, they then assured me that the wedding dress would be ready later that day. However, when I picked up the dress, the sides of the dress still had the same big creases. When I asked why this problem had not been fixed, they said that they did not know, and there was nothing that they could do. It looked like the dress had just been given back to me without any work being done on it, and they charged me the full price. Very horrible experience with this place, and I urge you not to use them.
Worst cleaning experience ever! Dropped a queen size all-white comforter off to be cleaned with Town & Country. I paid 30$ four days later when the item was ready for pickup. I did not inspect the item until I returned home. Upon inspection I found easily removable stains, and the comforter was obviously folded and stored before being allowed to fully dry causing a damp smell. I brought the comforter back in for a rewash the next day and was told I would need to wait another business week, bringing the sum total to about two weeks. I stated this was unacceptable and asked for a refund. They called and asked a manager to approve the refund. Upon approval I was returned 20$ instead of the original 30$ and did not notice until I walked outside. I immediately returned and asked for the rest of the refund when the female attendant proceeded to start a verbal altercation with me after I had to repeatedly ask for the receipt of the full transaction. She asked me why I wanted the receipt when "I got my money and my blanket in hand" I said I wanted it for my records and thats when she proceeded to curse at me in front of other patrons. I will never use this business again nor recommend it to anyone else.
We have only lived in Gainesville for four months and there are a few things we looked for when we moved here: good doctors, a good banker and a good dry cleaner! Town & Country is a perfect fit for our needs. Shelly is a bright spot in our day on Tuesdays and Fridays. She is always smiling, always brings a treat for Dudley (our dog) even if we aren't home, and really goes above and beyond! I dropped a dress of for alterations on Wednesday and had it back today! Our laundry and dry cleaning have been flawless, too. And they recycle hangers!
This was my first experience with an actual dry cleaner and I can say that this establishment really lives up to the ratings on here. The owner Chad, helped me personally and cleaned a shirt that I thought I would have to retire due to the stains on it. Just a days wait and the shirt looks even better than it did when it was new. I will definitely be back
I drive about 50 miles one way and pass at least four other veterinary offices to see the people here at Town and Country. They are warm, efficient, and honest on top of being well educated and up to date with their care. I have a high maintenance German Shepherd who at times has led people to blow her health issues off in favor of not having to put up with her, but the folks here love her and appreciate her for who she is. Dr. Greene is a godsend, and his staff wonderful.
