Finally, I asked to meet the dentist. He appeared a little annoyed (understandable because I'm sure he's pretty busy), but relaxed when he realized I just wanted to thank him and put a face with the name.
The dental hygienist introduced herself to me and my daughter. She explained that parents are not allowed in the back with their kids. Sensing my hesitation, she told me everything that would happen and that she would be present at all times. She even offered to give me a referral to another dentist if I was uncomfortable.
This dentist wouldn't let me go back with my 4 year old. We left right away because there is no way I am letting my 4 year old daughter go back there alone with a bunch of men. Times have changed and no one can be trusted!
This is the worst dentist in town. Scheduling personnel is rude, and I think the dentist himself is uneducated. They didn't refund my money for a procedure I never did. Take your money and time and go find a honest place...not this place.
My daughter went in for her first ever dental appointment and we were greeted very warmly by 2 staff members at the front desk. The front office was very nice, clean and cozy. There is a separate little room called "The Education Center" with 2 desks with computers to fill out the dental forms. Very nice! No hard to manage clipboards with endless pages of paperwork!
Since it was just a routine checkup and my daughter seemed at ease, we went ahead with the visit. At the end of the session, the hygienist escorted my happy daughter out with stickers, a bag of dental stuff and a toy from the prize box. She told me what happened and how my daughter reacted. Very professional.
It was a very pleasant experience over all. The only thing I don't like is not being able to accompany my kid during the procedures, but they were very patient with my questions and the Doc took the time to talk to me as well. I recommend the practice for sure.
Honestly if you're looking for a dentist I highly suggest you don't chose this dentistry. I went in for a bonding on my front tooth last week, and after waiting an hour to be taken in they did my bonding in maybe 5 minutes which doesn't make much sense clearly their poorly trained staff rushed through the procedure, then go figure a few days later it came off? Like what a surprise that it comes off when after reading these reviews this happens ALL THE TIME. Went in again cause I needed to get it fixed cause they made my original tooth which didn't look bad in the first place look even worse. I go in this time wait 40 minutes to be taken up, and then the assistant that resembles a pig tells me I can't use my front teeth to bite? She said if have to cut everything up from now on or use my k-9's like what sense does that even make honestly? So I'm complaining to my friends about this, and oh yeah I sat there for another 30 minutes in the operating chair while I heard him talking to other patients like I didn't exist. They told me they had the same procedure done years ago, and theirs has never come off so clearly they're just doing a poor job just to get your money. So I get fed up of waiting, and just got up and left.
My child is 4 years old. DR. Hughes wouldn't allow me to go with my 4 yrs old to the back. My son was resistant in going at first. I assure my son that I am only seconds away and I will respond if I heard anything. I'd even promised my son a toy car. My son decided to go with the nurse to the back without me; only for the nurse to return telling me that Dr. Hughes wanted to speak to me. Hughes claimed that I had spoiled the confidence in my son by assuring him with my speech of protection and I needed to LEARN to "LET THE PROFESSIONAL BE PROFESSIONAL" - whatever that mean. I asked Hughes, "Am I wrong to assure MY SON that I have his back if something goes wrong". He repeated himself to me. 'I HAD SPOILED IT AND I NEEDED TO LET THE PROFESSIONAL BE PROFESSIONAL.' So, I ask him does this mean you will not treat my son....his reply that this was not a good fit. WHAT! Then he suggested the nurse to refer me to another dentist who is 45 minutes away from my home, so I took my son and left. This is crazy...Don't waste your time...he has a lot of negative reviews. I should had checked his reviews even after our insurance referred us to his office.
