I've been to this restaurant twice before and never experienced what happened last night for my birthday dinner. First off, my tables for 25 people weren't set when I got there because they didn't take note that I had a reservation for that time and day granted I called twice to make sure. Second, it took forever before we saw the menus once we all sat down. Third, other people who came in after us got their silverware, drinks, and food before us. Last, the food was tasteless almost as if they didn't put any effort into it. They ruined my birthday for me to be honest because I felt that if they couldn't handle such a huge party then they shouldn't have let me go through with the reservations. Overall, the service and the food quality was terrible. I was considering letting them cater my graduation get together in May but that's not happening after this experience. I'm highly disappointed!
Good food in a nice atmosphere. The service here is great. I would definitely recommend the pulled pork, chicken and waffles, and mac & cheese.
The only reasons I couldn't give it 5 stars is because the sweet tea wasn't very good and the music was too loud. HOWEVER, the food was fantastic, loved the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy. I don't even like sweet potatoes and the sweet potato hush puppies were great!
Took my kids for lunch today. The meals were very large, and tasted amazing. The Mac n cheese was phenominal, and the pickled greens were delicious. I would recommend server, India, as she was one of the best servers I've had. My girls asked to come back just to see her. Great southern comfort food with amazing staff.
One of my favorite restaurants in Gainesville. I've been eating here for the last 4 years. I recommend trying their okra with tomatoes and bacon as one of your sides (the absolute best!). I love ordering the smothered catfish, meatloaf, and BBQ goat. If they have any cake while you're there, you should try a slice! Apple dumpling and sweet potato hush puppies are also a delicious sweet option. My only wish is that they would bring back breakfast.
