Have used After Hours many times with my first child and visited again this weekend with my second child for the first time. Knowing no two children are alike and having my newborn sick for the first over the weekend, I was a bit uneasy with some of the symptoms he was displaying. It warranted enough concern on my part to call and get advice on whether to bring him in or not. The nurse was very thorough and even listened to his breathing over the phone. We got an appointment to be seen, and thankfully it was nothing serious, just the run of the mill first time cold from starting daycare. I am so grateful to have this service available for when you pass your comfort level of being "nurse mommy" and need the peace of mind of having your child seen by a professional, especially on a weekend.
Called because my son was running a fever and spoke to nurse Ashley. I'm a first time mom and didn't even begin to know what to do for a baby who is running a temp. She was incredibly abrasive and rude and said she couldn't help me. You're a nurse? Isn't that your job? To help people. I understand not being able to give medical advice over the phone, and would never want someone to break the rules, however a little understanding and patience would go a long way. We always use Shands, but no longer will due to this incident.
We got an appointment promptly after calling our pediatrician's after-house line. Front desk was friendly and efficient. The waiting room had an undersea decor with fishtanks that kept my rambunctious toddler entertained. The physicians were helpful, patient, and great with our little one.
Great service that provide prompt appointments for urgent care. The office gave appointment within an hour. The waiting time was similar or shorter than wait in the pediatrician regular office appointment. The staff are friendly and attentive to my child needs.
